I was able to install and get the DMG forums up and running quite easily in a standard IIS Server, but I'm trying to integrate them as a sub-section to my site. Overall, the configuration for this seems pretty adaptable, but I'm having some integration issues with VS2010 I was hoping someone might be able to help with.

1) When I try to hit the default.aspx page within the VS2010 environment I get:
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
This seems to indicate some kind of ODBC driver error, but for the life of me I can't figure out what. I've been told to look at 32-bit vs 64-bit ODBC configurations but either I'm not finding the right places, or it's all set up correctly. In IIS I do not get this error. This is extremely frustrating as basically I can't run this in my development environment right now, only on the live server. :(

2) Is there any documentation or posts here that someone can think of on how I can not use the login/registration features of the forums, but instead use my own login/logout, and call dmg functions to set a user as logged in or out for the session. I saw the setup instructions on how to add the DMG login box to my application, but I'd like to do it the other way around and use my own registration/login as my site uses a lot of other custom data.

3) Is there any documentation/posts on Security levels that someone can point me to. I'm trying to configure some basic forum stuff like "Members can post here, Visitors can only read." But I'm having a hard time finding these options intuitively in the menus.I found this post on "viewing" forums:, but it seems to be a one-set option for both view/post, and I'm looking for different settings on these.
